How it works

Optimmersion is a proportional controller to add to a Solar Power installation. It diverts free electricity to the immersion heater when surplus power is available.

Simple to install, it supplies variable power depending on the excess electricity being generated. It automatically harvests surplus electricity and all of it is used to heat water and maintain temperature level.

It is installed between the immersion tank element and the mains, no modification to the existing immersion element, hot water cylinder or pipework needed. Optimmersion uses current transformer sensors to constantly measure the power being generated by Solar PV and also power in use in the home.

This data is transmitted over RF to the clever Optimmersion system that regularly calculates the excess electricity which varies the power to the heating element. The advanced electronics provides a true variable output

Save money on bills and reduce payback time on your Solar PV system as your hot water is essentially free. Works with (but does not require) existing Wattson Solar Plus, Wattson Professional and original Wattson systems.

The product is a standalone system that does not require a Wattson Solar Plus to get its data, but will work very well with Wattson to show how much of your generated electricity you are using and how much power you could be using on other products in the home.

PLEASE NOTE
Optimmersion needs to be installed by your PV installer or a professional electrician, this should take half a day or less except in complicated situations (such as if other appliances are wired into the immersion heater’s circuit). You should budget £150 - £250 for installation but it may come in slightly more or less depending on installation complexity.
