This page explains the terms and conditions of Smart Home Energy, in relation to goods ordered online.
You can print or save this page for your reference or copy and paste it into a word processing document and save it on your local hard drive.

We accept payment via PayPal and through Amazon which allow you to pay with Visa, Mastercard and Debit cards. These services also allow you to pay in your own currency. Alternatively we can accept bank transfers (BACS) directly, please contact us for more details.

Prices are subject to change without notice. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

All images are representations of the products, actual products may differ visually.

Placing an order
To place an order you must:

  • Select the appropriate product and the correct postage destination from the drop down menu
  • Or click the Amazon 'buy now' button
  • You will then be transferred to either Amazon or PayPal where you will need to complete your purchase according the their process. Please double check that you have ordered the correct product at this stage.
  • Your chosen payment provider will then send you an email confirming you have placed an order
  • Smart Home Energy or Amazon will then process your order, dispatch your goods and send you a confirmation email telling you that your goods have been dispatched. Smart Home Energy does not accept any responsibility for emails which are not received.
  • We only accept orders in English, although you may be able to complete a transaction by using an online translation service, however we only correspond with our customers in English.

    Shipping And Handling

  • The goods you order will be delivered to the address you give when you place your order, so please ensure your address details are accurate.
  • Orders placed before 12.00 pm on a working day will be processed that day and will be posted to you via 'signed for' mail. (A working day is any day other than weekends and bank or other public holidays.)
  • Proof of postage will be obtained for each order and this will be considered as sufficient evidence that the goods ordered were dispatched as requested.
  • Smart Home Energy does not accept any liability for goods damaged in transit by the Royal Mail, or undelivered goods.
  • If your goods are not received within the expected time frame, or arrive damaged in any way, please inform us as soon as possible within 24 hours, and we will provide copies of the proof of postage and do our best to support you in obtaining compensation from the Royal Mail.
  • Every effort will be made to deliver the goods as soon as possible after your order has been accepted. However, Smart Home Energy will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through reasonable or unavoidable delay in delivery. In this case, the supplier will inform you of any delay as soon as possible and will give you the option of cancelling your order at this point.
  • Refunds and returns

  • In accordance with Distance Selling Regulations all orders are subject to a cooling off period of one week, during which time the customer may request a refund.
  • Refunds will only be made to customers who make a written request for a refund within one week of receipt of the goods.
  • Customers requesting refunds will be required to cover the cost of the return postage to the supplier, unless the goods were faulty.
  • Refunds will be made to the account or credit card with which the order was placed, after the goods have been returned in their original condition, including all original packaging and components, within 30 days.
  • Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm

    Credit Card Security
    When an account is set up and an order is placed via PayPal your credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. Smart Home Energy will not be told any of your credit card details and does not therefore store any of your credit card information.
